Hi Darlings,
I hope you are having a wonderful start to your day (or end to your day… whenever you are reading this!).
I wanted to share with you all the story and some photos of my wedding day! There was quite the drama around our wedding, which perhaps I will share in another blog, but for this one I just wanted to share the good stuff <3
Mikey and I were married on May 19th 2019, literally the BEST DAY EVER! We had some difficulty planning our wedding because of Mikes family (that’s the drama), so we decided to elope!
I just typed in google “best places to elope around North America”, and Joshua Tree National Park in California took my breath away. Everything else fell into place pretty easily. We booked a photographer that had tons of knowledge of Joshua Tree and we booked an officiant that seemed like a lot of fun (and she totally was!)
The rest we made really simple… I ordered a big blue skirt off Etsy and got my top off amazon. Mikes outfit was a mix of JCrew and Amazon!
My mum passed away 2 weeks after Mikey and I started dating. The loss of her made it really hard for me to want to have a full on wedding while not having her here with me. My sister surprised me with a perfume bottle necklace with her initial engraved, filled with her perfume. And now I am of course crying as I type this.
We stayed in a little hotel just outside Joshua Tree, did our first look right outside and then spent the day in the park.
Our photographer was AMAZING. He picked us up at 6:00am and spent ALL day with us until 8PM. He drove us all around the park to all the spots he pre-scouted and took amazing photos.
Our ceremony was only about 15 minutes and I cried so much (Mikey totally teared up too). We wrote our own vows, and the tears wouldn’t stop flowing.
Donuts were involved from our fave donut shop in LA, SK’s. They are to die for!
We finished out night off at the Cheesecake Factory, so tired we could barely keep our eyes open. If you haven’t tried it yet….the smores cheesecake is THE BEST!
And of course… the next day we spent the full day at Disney Land, the best place ever to celebrate just getting married!
The best part of all, I married my best friend. <3
Thank you for reading a little bit about our most special day. Here are a handful of photos that I really love <3
Have an amazing day Darlings xox
